The call from death to life is how some would summarize the gospel message. We see this call play out on two different levels in Luke 5 as Jesus encounters Simon and his compatriots. What is the nature of the call for Simon personally? And what is the nature of the call on Simon vocationally? Simon’s call(s) is/are our call(s).

Prayer Points
1. God, give us eyes to see your holiness and be convicted where we fall short. Give us hearts to believe your goodness and be convinced that you love us regardless.
2. Pray for people in our faith community to answer Jesus’ call to push out into the deep, to experience life in Christ as we join him on the mission he’s given us (not necessarily the one we’ve created for ourselves).
