In September, our region was devastated by flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. Over 100 families in Washington County alone lost their homes entirely. While GFC was active in mobilizing resources to help provide immediate disaster relief, we also have been seeking to discern how to invest in longer-term rebuilding efforts to help those most severely impacted by this tragedy.

GFC is partnering with Appalachia Service Project to build homes for families in 2025! Through giving and serving in strategic ways, we can provide tangible help and hope to folks in our community whose lives have been turned upside down and are in desperate need of assistance. Through our congregation’s generous hearts, we have hit the goal amount needed to build five homes for five families in 2025. If you haven’t had a chance to serve or give to this need, you still can!
